therapy dog

Jasmine was born on January 25, 2012. Age 9 now, she misses her work as a therapy dog and misses all of you! She's not a fan of Zoom - you smell wrong on Zoom. But she remains healthy and vital and continues to love to chase her frisbee.
She is an Australian Labradoodle. The Australian Labradoodle breed was begun about 35 years ago in Australia where it is Australian Kennel Club registered. The dogs were bred to become therapy dogs. Hence, they are known to be quite hypoallergenic (no dog is perfect) non-shedding, intelligent, very quiet i.e. non barking and very calm in temperament.
In May, 2013 Jasmine passed the test to become certified as a therapy dog with the group Therapy Dogs International (TDI). In addition to hanging out with me in my office, this qualifies her to become a therapeutic visitor to hospitals, nursing homes, schools and anywhere else her presence
would be welcome.
In October 2013, she began visiting the Sargent Memorial Library in Boxborough, MA. She is part of a therapeutic reading program for young children. The program gives children who are having difficulty learning to read a relaxed, warm atmosphere where they can gain confidence in their abilities. The kids love to read to her and show her the pictures.
Jasmine is also endeavoring to hike the entire 90 mile Massachusetts mid-state trail which runs north to south. She is a most enthusiastic participant.
